Workcentric and IBM hold roundtable for cybersecurity experts and practitioners

On April 11, 2018, Workcentric hosted a roundtable discussion participated in by cybersecurity executives and professionals from various industries at Makati Shangri-La Manila.

In partnership with IBM, the event entitled Next-Level Cybersecurity: A Roundtable for Security Experts and Practitioners was planned with organizations who have already laid the groundwork in securing their infrastructure in mind. The event aimed to enlighten these organizations as they look for ways to fine-tune their current practice.

Facilitated by Technology Consultant Jomari Mercado, the roundtable was indeed an interactive discussion intended to foster continuous learning and sharing of best practices. BlastAsia, Inc. CEO & President Arup Maity opened the event with a talk on the importance of cybersecurity in digital transformation, being it a milestone that most if not all companies are trying to achieve as they invest more and more in technology for business growth.

BlastAsia Cybersecurity Practice Lead DAX Paulino’s insightful discussion focused on the effective measures to take in strengthening cybersecurity defenses such as accurately addressing compliance, improving overall security hygiene and overseeing users and identities involved.

Compliance and threat prevention are vital building blocks for business growth – this is what IBM Security – Software Solutions Business Unit Executive Matthew Burns emphasized as he delved into Security Operations Center building. He also shared some insightful tips on how to manage and overcome cybersecurity crises.

A knowledge-sharing session among cybersecurity experts and practitioners, this event is in line with Workcentric’s vision to empower companies to move forward and accelerate success through the power of technology.
